I know people who move from workshop to workshop, from teacher to teacher, yet no real transformation takes place. The ego does not wish to expose itself. It is like a thief disguising himself as a police officer and trying to catch himself. Or like a snake devouring its own tail. For almost two decades I wandered aimlessly\u2014until I encountered a teacher who told me to stop. It was not pleasant\u2014suddenly I had to face very uncomfortable feelings. Yet I persisted. I allowed everything unnecessary to burn away in the fire of truth.
